My whole career has come down to one job: taking something complex and making it understood. That is what journalism is — you read, you listen, you find the structure hidden in the noise, and you make it legible. Semantiqa is that same craft applied to the web, now that your audience is no longer only people but also the machines that read on their behalf. I don't run a site through an algorithm. I read it — and I make sure that what it means is what comes across, to humans and to AI alike.

The path

For most of my career I was an investigative journalist. I wrote on economics, technology and foreign policy for Italy's major papers — Repubblica, Il Sole 24 Ore, Panorama — and for La Voce, Indro Montanelli's newspaper. I hosted a talk show on Sky, and published four books with Fazi Editore; the best known, La Leggenda del Buon Cibo Italiano, a controversial investigation into how Italian food is really produced.

It was always the same discipline: taking a tangled subject and finding the line through it. I have interviewed Noam Chomsky, Bill Gates, Wole Soyinka, Larry Ellison and dozens of the people shaping the digital economy — and learned to listen for what someone means, not only what they say.

Then ten years in Asia moved me outside the frame I had grown up in, and changed how I read almost everything.

Today

Years ago I wrote a white paper on technology in schools for Italy's Ministry of Education — the first time the document itself, clear and built to be understood, was the whole point. That is the work now.

I founded Eclectiqa, my studio for websites and communication, and created Semantiqa, the method behind everything we do. If the rest of this page made sense to you, that is where it leads.
